Crystal Beach Wastewater Treatment Plant

Crystal Beach Wastewater Treatment Plant has a current rated capacity of 10,000 m3/d (average daily flow) with a peak flow capacity of 30,000 m3/d.  The project involved the refurbishment and replacement of existing WWTP equipment while keeping the plant fully operational at all times.  All shutdowns and tie-ins were planned, executed and commissioned in the time allotted and without disruption to the daily operations of the plant.

The project scope of work consisted of the supply and installation of the following;

  • A new 750KW standby generator c/w exhaust stack and underground fuel tank
  • Construction of a new ferric chloride building c/w new ferric chloride tanks and containment area
  • New mechanical bar screens and retrofits of the existing grit removal system
  • Replacemt 3 existing aeration blowers and air piping
  • A complete renovation of the Administration Building including the HVAC system
  • The replacement of level, pressure and flow metering devices and upgrades to the plant's existing SCADA system
  • The replacement of all the plant MCC's and raw sewage pump VFD's
